If you’re looking for a slightly different dining experience off the beaten path and with a touch of romance, we suggest Just Dinner on Dunlavy.
Residents of Monarch Medical Center will enjoy a charming setting and excellent food for a romantic dinner in Houston.
Firstly, this little restaurant operates out of a bungalow built in 1928 on Dunlavy Street. It became a restaurant in 2007, with three small dining rooms and an average-sized home kitchen sporting a few extra amenities to make it a plausible commercial kitchen. Consequently, the atmosphere is cozy, made romantic by muted track lighting and candles on the tables. And most importantly, the restaurant seats around 35 people. This is as romantic as you can get.
Don’t let the modest surroundings fool you. The interior is simple, yet stylish, with artistically arranged meals served on classic white dishes. The presentation of the food rivals larger, better-known restaurants. And while the menu, like the restaurant, is small, the portions are generous and tasty. The fare is an interesting cross between comfort food and Italian cuisine, with an occasional hint of French inspiration. What a delight!
So, what does this interesting fare consist of? Here are the seven high yum-factor entrees: braised short ribs, stuffed pork tenderloin, orange honey duck breast, filet mignon, citrus fennel chicken breast, stuffed collard rolls, and fish of the day. The supporting accouterments consist of: creative starters such as Jumbo Lump Crab Cake, Maple Glazed Pork Belly, and assorted artisanal cheeses. Roasted garlic mashed potatoes beg to be eaten. Honey & Herb Roasted Beets have no equal. Carmelized & Spiralized Carrots are to die for. So, a meal at Just Dinner at Dunlavy is, quite literally, an event!
Only two rules apply to enjoy a meal at Just Dinner at Dunlavy:

This is an eating adventure worth pursuing!
