Three Great Houston Bike Trails

Biking is an excellent hobby and a great way to exercise. For residents of our apartments in Houston, TX, it’s also one way to explore the scenic views close to home. Below are some local Houston bike trails to try out, all a short distance away from home.

Emnora Lane Hike & Bike Trail

While it might be small, the Emnora Lane Hike & Bike Trail is an excellent place to bike, especially if you’re a beginner. The trail is paved and fairly simple to get through. It can also be very scenic, particularly if you go just before dusk. You can bike as you watch the sunset. Also, it’s unlikely that you’ll find it to be crowded.

Terry Hershey Park, Hike & Bike Trail

Terry Hershey Park is a 496-acre attraction with multiple access points. It’s a well-maintained park, and one of the major attractions is the bike trail. It’s hilly and may be a bit more challenging to navigate compared to the Emnora Lane Hike & Bike Trail. However, if you’re an experienced cyclist and you like the scenery, biking here should be an enjoyable activity. The trail is about 12.2 miles long.

Southbelt Hike & Bike Trail

Another one of the best Houston biking trails is the Southbelt Hike & Bike Trail. It’s almost the same distance from home as the Terry Hershey Park. It can get somewhat crowded in the afternoons, but you won’t have to share it with that many people in the mornings. Additionally, it comes with an exercise area where you can stop and stretch, as well as a pond with waterfalls, ducks, and turtles.

Notably, there are a couple of reliable Houston sporting goods stores that are also close to home. They can set you up with all the equipment you need to hit the trails, including mountain bikes, safety gear, and more.
